My philosophy is simple: Work should be a good thing, not a struggle. The work I do with clients helps make this a reality for both individuals and organizations. I have had a rich and blessed life that has given me a great education and wonderful experiences preparing me to be an effective coach and advisor to individuals, managers, leaders and organizations.
Cultivate Coaching and Consulting, LLC was founded in August 2011. From 2000-2011, I worked for LSU’s Rucks Department of Management, teaching Human Resource Management, Human Behavior in Organizations, Employee Selection/Placement, and Principles of Management. For a while I served as department undergrad advisor, as faculty advisor for Sigma Iota Epsilon and SHRM at LSU (student organizations) and coordinated internship experiences for undergrad management majors. LSU was a great gig; I really enjoyed my time there especially teaching and getting to know awesome students.
Prior to LSU, I was an internal consultant for Southern Company in Atlanta as part of the Individual & Organizational Assessment group. The group was responsible for the development, validation and implementation of selection procedures and other assessment tools, including an internally developed 360-assessment process, survey development, career development and exit interview process.
Before that, I worked as an external consultant with United Parcel Services Employee Relations Group at corporate HQ and as a researcher at the Center for Leadership and Career Studies in Emory University’s b-school.
I earned my MS and PhD in Industrial Organizational Psychology from The University of Georgia. I/O psyc is the study of people issues in the workplace – a continuous source of fascination.
I earned a BS in Hotel, Restaurant, & Tourism Administration from the University of New Orleans. During my undergrad years I did two semesters at sea. Semester at Sea is a travel/study program where students travel around the world by ship and stop in port for anywhere from 3-10 days. I visited more than a dozen countries on five continents and was changed forever.
From May 2009 – March 2012, I served on the board of the YWCA of Greater Baton Rouge. The mission of the YW is to empower women and to eliminate racism, a mission in which I totally believe. Through my YW work I met amazing people and learned fascinating things about the Baton Rouge community.
I have been married to a great guy since 1996. We enjoy music, especially live music, travel, cooking, hanging out with friends & family, and being involved in the community.
